The winner of the 26th CBI Book of the Year Award was revealed today at a ceremony held in Smock Alley Theatre in Dublin. Recipients of the Children’s Choice Award, Honour Awards for Fiction and Illustration, Eilís Dillon award for a first children’s book and the Judges’ Special Award were also revealed.
Today, Tuesday 17th May, 2016, author and illustrator PJ Lynch was announced as the fourth Laureate na nÓg, Ireland’s laureate for children’s literature, at a special event at the Arts Council’s offices in Merrion Square. The announcement was made by President Michael D. Higgins.
On May 23rd Liz Page, IBBY’s Executive Director, will speak about the work of IBBY in promoting international understanding through children’s books. This will be followed by a General Meeting at which all are welcome, details about the meeting can be found here.
