Juliette Saumande

Juliette Saumande is officially obsessed with children’s books: she reads them, writes them, translates them, reviews them, recommends them and has been known to talk about them in her sleep. She is a French writer and translator of children’s books living in Dublin. She has over 30 titles to her name, available in French and English. She is also Reviews Editor for Inis (Children’s Books Ireland’s magazine), and is a regular contributor to CBI’s Book Clinics. You can find out more about Juliette and her thoughts here.

Childhood Classic
The Moomin series by Tove Jansson. I love Moomin, the troll because of his constant state of wonder at the world, and because he knows how to (occasionally) be grumpy! As a writer, I would love to be Tove Jansson when I grow up: I would love to write, like her, books that are brilliantly funny and yet thoughtful, for the curious and quiet reader.
